Well, I finally got my 318 back together and into the car. Crank journals turned 20 down, all new bearings, new piston rings, comp cam, 160 duration w/ 454 lift, new valve springs, retainer, locks, and seals. Went to fire it, and it started right up. Sounded pretty good too. I ran it for about 20 seconds and had to shut it down due to water leaks from the head bolts. My buddy helped me put the motor together, and we put a sealer on the bolt threads, but now I'm wondering if this didn't work for some reason. Which head bolts go into water passages? Sorry I don't have any pics, but my camera decided to go for a swim the last time I went fishing...

the end bolts have water in them. front and back on each side. they should be where the studs were.

I was gonna say, no head bolts go into coolant passages on a 318.

When I pulled the exhaust off, there was only 1 stud. Everything else had bolts.
