My 78 D200 has a 400 and i havent messed with the timing yet. Went and saw 3 marks on the balancer...1 notch goes all the way across, and the other 2 go half way across ..??
I'm assuming the full notch is what i'm gonna use? The half notches are on either side say 3" away from larger notch...

the other notches are for a certain degree of timing either way, but I can't remember what right off

Iv got a cast crank 440 here with 4 notches on the balancer, & back in the early 90s I had another 440 that was the same

Set the engine to TDC using piston height, the distributor and valve orientation, install the damper, and mark the corresponding slot as indicated by your timing cover mark as TDC. Works for me ! Chryco
