Seat belt mount spacer question
« on: July 26, 2008, 09:04:26 PM »

Anyone know where I can get one of those machined metal spacers that fits between the headliner and the upper seat belt mount for the front seats?  I'll post a pic as soon as can.  Basically it is a machined spacer that keeps the seat belt bolt from overtightening and crushing the headliner against the side of the roof structure.  I just put my newly painted headliner back in the Dart today and noticed that one was missing and that someone had merely left the bolt loose to compensate.

This is from a 75 Dart Sport or Duster.  It's one of those many parts that gets tossed in the trash when building a race car.....someone has to have one laying around!!

Thanks,

If it is just a spacer, then whatever fits the bill can be used.

Here is a Photoshop drawing I made of the spacer.  I didn't draw it on the pic, but on the bottom side it is not perfectly flat....It has a taper from the edge of the hole out to the outer edge of the spacer.  Tapers off about .125" or so.

If I can't find one easily enough I will just make one without the taper and call it done.
