Hello to all. I have been a member here for some time and have just been lurking in the shadows. Most of the time I don't need to ask a question because a can find it in a search. This is not one of them cases thou. I have a 71 Swinger K-H brakes. I sold them and purchased a 73-up disk setup to have the large bolt parrten. Now I am putting them on the car I noticed I did not get the bolts that connect the lower ball joint to the spindle. I am hoping that some one here may know where I can get them? Or even know what size/length I need? Thanks for any help I can get.

That'd be an easy find at a pick-n-pull yard, if you have one near you. If not, I can get the measurements for you this weekend if no one else chimes in.
Oh yeah, Welcome!

Thanks mopowers. but none of the yards around here have any a-bodies. I do have a 74 drum brake car, but not sure if the bolts are the same. It would be great if you can get me the measurements when you get a chance. Thanks for the welcome.

If I recall right, neither your spindle nor the balljoint is threaded (correct me if I'm wrong). So you need a bolt and a nut. Look at this thread: http://www.bigblockdart.com/index.php/topic,4718.0.htmlIf you do not need the nut (because one of your components does have threads), you should be able to use a 5/8 x 18, 2 inch long bolt. Hope this helps. -Jay

By the way, I don't think any of the big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot carries this size bolt in grade 8 fine thread. I got mine at a local hardware store. You could also get them from Grainger.com.

Thanks for the reply guys. You are correct there are no thread in either spindle or joint. So nut and bolt. Thanks jbarker for the measurments, now maybe I can start putting in my new brakes.
