66 dart GT, 273, electronic ignition, nothing fancy... I removed the 225 slant points engine and installed the 273 and am converting to electronic ignition... have it wired per the diagram in the tech pages, but yet no spark... does it matter which side of the ballast resistor I slpice into to add the new wire to the Module? i have the 4-pin module and a 2-prong ballast with 2 wires into each side of the resistor. Pulling my hair out over here wanting this car to see the street again before snow comes. I know I have juice up to the plug on the distributor, but I can't tell if the juice is making it's way into or thru the dist... I am a numbskull when it comes to electrical - so bear with me...

If you look @ the ballast w/hole on top, the ignition voltage is on right and starting voltage on left. Depending on resistor the lower resistance path flows left and is best near .5 ohms.

ok, so hook it (ign module) up to the left side??
the diagram shows a wire to + on the coil to be on "left" side and to add a new wire on the "left" for the ign module...
thanks for helping!

Did you replace the resistor? The early ones have alot of resistance and may not get the full 9 volts to the coil.

Make sure that the ignition module has a good ground where ever you mounted it, too. That will keep the box from firing the coil.
Good luck!!

Im going through this now as well with my 67 Dart from a slant six to a 360. You may have already done this, but ONE thing no one mentions and it isnt even included in the MP Electronic conversion wiring harness...is the fact that you need to upgrade to a 70 and later Voltage Regulator and an Alternator with two FLD prongs....its easy to do...I can write the directions if you need em....

Thanks fellas! I have been off the grid with the new baby... but I see now I have a couple more hints as to the problem. Module is laying there on the inner fender, and have the old VR and alternator...
great!

What if I had already upgraded to an electronic voltage regulator a couple years ago - it fit right where the old mechanical one was, same hookups and everything?? Do I still need to switch to the newer one? Plus I think I am getting a full 12 volts at the coil... is tis not right? it feels warm to the touch also (coil). This is killing me I cannot get the thing to have spark, not sure where I have made the error!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR

You don't need to upgrade. You do, however, need a constant voltage regulator for the single field alternator (available from MP or other sources of solid state regulators).

Well we took another stab at it saturday - switched everything over from the 4-pin to a 5-pin module... then whaddaya know! She fired!! Sweet, life is good right?? Ran it a few times saturday just cause it sounds cool... then I tucked all the wires and routed everything all nice and neat and mounted the coil and so forth... came out sunday to do more tuning.... NO SPARK! this time the main lead we got the juice from off the resistor, had no energy. I must have done something to the universe to deserve this frustration...
grrrrrr
