has anyone had any experience with them going bad? it must be common. what is the best way to get them out?? thanks in advance.. looks like a female dog!!!

Beleive it or not the top is the easiset way to get it out. Pull the wiper cowl out, should come out as an assy, and it will open up the back side of the engine and firewall

racks don't ususally go bad. Its the tie rod ends on the rack. You'll probably need bushings. The go as early as 40K miles. POOR design....expensive to fix at the dealer. Not really hard, but time consuming. There are upgraded aftermarket split bushings that make the job easier. I think NAPA has them good luck. Mike

I've seen the rack bushings go bad too, creating all kinds of slop...
