Topic: Need brakes for a D60 - Drum or disc for the drags?? (Read 258 times)

I've heard big drum brakes hold the car at the line better than discs on the rear axle. Seemed to make sense, but I want to get some opinions.
Also, if I do go with drums, which drum brake setup is best for the D60??

I just went with regular ol 10 x 2.5" mopar drums. I had a set of 11's but the damn finned drums I had weighed a ton! If you are worried about holding the car at the line, you can always put in a 2-step. Just a thought.

Disk brakes are far superior to drums all around , go with the disk brake set up of your choice . My car has Wilwoods and will stop my car from 140 mph pretty easily. Chryco  |

I'm with chryco my Wilwoods stop me too.I have them on all 4 wheels.

I know discs stop well from speed. But do they hold you at the line as well as drums without a tranny brake?

I have never had a problem holding a 2750# Dart when I tried to foot brake it.So I would say it would hold your car as well.
