Need brakes for a D60 - Drum or disc for the drags??
« on: July 30, 2008, 10:49:12 PM »

I've heard big drum brakes hold the car at the line better than discs on the rear axle. Seemed to make sense, but I want to get some opinions.

Also, if I do go with drums, which drum brake setup is best for the D60??

Thanks.

I just went with regular ol 10 x 2.5" mopar drums.  I had a set of 11's but the damn finned drums I had weighed a ton!  If you are worried about holding the car at the line, you can always put in a 2-step.  Just a thought.

Disk brakes are far superior to drums all around , go with the disk brake set up of your choice . My car has Wilwoods and will stop my car from 140 mph pretty easily.

I know discs stop well from speed. But do they hold you at the line as well as drums without a tranny brake?

I have never had a problem holding a 2750# Dart when I tried to foot brake it.So I would say it would hold your car as well.
