does it havd a 3 grand chip in the MSD?

Rev Limiter chip. They come in specific RPM increments.

He doesnt have an MSD box. Its a chrysler type from summit.

The pickup coil inside the distrib can be weak causing this condition.

Also, you mentioned no kickdown linkage to trans. IT IS CRITICAL.
Without it you dont have enough pressure and will cook the trans under full load.

I am cheesing for ear to ear right now. For those of you who guessed electrical, you where right. For those of you who said ignition module, you where dead on.  Just put on the new box, and it reved up to 5,000  in park and nuetral easy. I still havent driven the car around because theres a stupid parade in front of my house,but im sure it will work fine. Sounds loads better. Nowmy only ? is, why did it messup in the first place. I am so happy, i was doing the chicken dance, out in my yard.   you guys rock . thanks a million.

Got your phone call. thnx for letting me know it was the ignition box. Now take that sum bitch out and blow the cob webbs out the exhaust. Put you at least a chrome box by mopar. And somone needs to tell us how to post photos cuz what weve tried isnt letting us do it .
