My father is looking at a 1968 fury 3 like the one he used to have . Anyways the one he is looking at doesnt have the tail lights all the way across the rear like the one he used to have or like the other one that used to be around town. It does have the fury 3 emblem on the trunk lid though. Anyone know why this would be? Also is there any way of knowing for sure that it is a fury 3 not a fury 1 or 2 by the VIN number?
Thanks

Here's what I found in my code books. These codes would be the first two digits on the cars vin tag I.D. number. There are also several additional listings for Sport Fury's and station wagons, but you said it's a Fury III, so I did not include those listings. just the 1968 - 71 Fury I, II, III. Police, Taxi and fastback, so you can tell what it is. I hope this helps you out.
Richard
1967 - 1971 Fury I = PE
1967 - 1971 Fury II = PL
1967 - 1971 Fury III = PM
1968 - 1969 Fury III fastback = PX
1966 - 1974 Fury Police package = PK
1967 - 1974 Fury Taxi package = PT

If I remember correctly, I think the tail light all the way across was on the VIP model...
