I was wondering when putting a master cylinder onto a brake booster, do you set the booster plunger so that there is some pre load on the master cylinder as it is bolted on? ie bosoter plunger comes into contact with the master cylinder just before the retaining bolts are fully done up.

There is a spec listed in the service manual that shows the distance the rod should protrude from the mounting surface of the booster/master interface.
