Looking good. I hate body work too, not to metion i have never done it. I have a buddy doing mine right now and he has to do the same to the roof. It too had a vinyl top and had some rust and holes under it.

sanding is for the birds. i was into it when i had time to kill. i was out fo work for a winter and enjoyed it. out to the garage early i nthe am with a cup of coffee and lite a fire. i dont have time liek that today and i really dont have the patients. i thought i was starting to get pretty good at it. when i finally gave up and had a friend finish the car for me he complemented on most of it.

my had is seriously off to anyone that can stand to do this crap for a living. If you do it and do it well, I think you should easily make six figures!!!!

I used to do it for a living. It's not for everyone though, definitely can't be in a hurry. Like anything, the more you do it you'll get quicker but bodywork is time consuming no matter what. I still enjoy it though

I wish everyone could experience bodywork, then no one would bitch about the price of a paint job.

Chris, id be happy to come do your car for six figures I'll be estatic the day I start making 6 figures I'd never ask you to work on my lowly dart, but I'll have a few cold ones ready any time you and Pedals want to hang out!!!

sanding filler is no fun but try staying at 100 grit it will move along faster. i know a lot of people do it but laying the filler over the paint is asking for . some or most of the new tech coatings will make it swell underneath the topcoat. there are exceptions like using polyester putty and nothing coarser than 120 grit before applying it to the old paint.
