i have a stupid question whats the difference between a 2wd trand and a 4x4 trans can you take of the rear of the 2wd and attach transfer case or is it way differant i havent had much time to get under my truck and look thanks will.oh its a 75 power wagon small block auto

........................The 4x4 trans has an adapter bolted to the rear of the case and a short tail shaft........u would have to remove all the internals to change out the car trans tail shaft,then put in ur 4x4 tail shaft, or put the internals from the car trans into ur 4x4 tranny....kim.........

is $250 a good deal for labor to rebuild the transmission i supply the rebuild kit .

Sounds good to me. I just got quoted $450.00-$500.00 (reputable shop) for a complete overhaul with high performance clutches steels and so forth.

what  Kimmer said-----------the truck one is different and has a short tail section--


dont bother with one---get one out of a car


i  went thru  this deal  a couple years ago
