I have the steering box and manual conversion kits for both the E-body and A-body. I like the way it works with the E' better because the steering column is spring loaded, so there is flexibility. On the A' the column is ridged and it relies on the slip pot to give flexibility, so when the kit is used there is no more give in the column, other than the shaft sliding with in or out of the U-joint coupler. Cut the shaft long as possible, still allowing for the U-joint to rotate, and collapse 5/8". I did not drill for the set screws either. I would have left the original A-body coupler if it was long enough. I was thinking after I should have got the extension instead. The FR steering box feels no tighter than the stock aluminum type on the other car, but I needed to go manual. Also the original power was very exact feeling with no play.
