Mopar inboard kit rookie jitters and other questions
« on: September 17, 2008, 10:42:22 PM »

Hey folks;

I have a 73`Dart Sport with a mild 440 in it, and for YEARS have wanted to do the inboard kit.  Well this year is the year.  I put an order into MP and ordered it up.  Back ordered, but none the less ordered.

Now I have merely skimmed the pages, and after getting a few qoutes to do it, I thought maybe it would save some $$$ to do it myself.

1)  Do you HAVE to do the mini-tub?

I have already opened up my wheel well to the rear of the qaurter, but that just allows a taller tire.  I have fit a 29x12.5 MT Sportsman, with the 1" Offset shackles on a 10" rim, but they rub oh' so little on the springs.

I went down to a MT ET Street 28 x 11.5 and they fit better...

What else does the wheel well mini tub do?

Any other tips and tricks?

depends on your back space and tire  section width .  If you are moving the springs in  why not move the tubs in flush ?  Might as well do it while your doing all that work.

the other spot is the bottom front corner of the quarter  that might need trimmed.

look up the tire/wheel fitment  thread on here---
