Sounds like a scam but I'm unsure

Quote
Hello,
I have received your email regarding my ************. The car
is in perfect condition without any mechanical problems, with no damages, clear title.
The last price for the car is $4200.
Unfortunately, my life got complicated and I have to let this beauty go...The car was my
husband`s as he loved it very much, but he did not enjoy it as he died in a IRAQ 9 month ago. It
brings very bad memories to me, I want to get rid of it.
The buyer will receive the car with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it
to his name. Shipping will be done whit D.A.S. shipping Company and it will take no more then
2-3 days. I have a friend there who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it is
my duty to pay for shipping it. It will be delivered directly to your address.
Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in test driving and inspecting the car, please reply with the following informations:
-Your full name;
-Your shipping address.
The transaction will close only through eBay so we both will be protected. I want eBay because
they are the biggest Company on the Internet and we can close this deal fast and safe for both of us. Also I am not very familiar with the Internet transactions and eBay is the only one I know.
You will have 10 days so you can inspect the car and it's papers. Once you have inspected the
car and decided to keep it, you will confirm your decision to eBay and they will re-route the
money in my account, but if by any reason, you won't be satisfied with the car you can
return it back for a full refund of your money.

It sounds like a scam to me but once again i am unsure, they don't ask for money ahead of time before the vehicle is supposed to be delivered so?Huh I'm assuming it's a scam.

Total scam.Just a variation of the many scams going around. That's funny  "she assumes" that it's her duty to pay for shipping. lol lol Who in the hell does that?Shoot her an e-mail and tell her you would like to come look at the car and see if you get an adress. And if you do it will be something bogus.Screw with them and see what they say.Totally bogus.

lol yeah, I'm just used to the normal ones where they want money up front but this one was different. I don't quite understand tho? like maybe I'm just not educated on it but why just ask for my name and address and then promise not to need money until I have actually seen the car and agreed to pay for it.

Maybe they want your address so they can pick a time to be sure you're out of the house, then move in and clean you out. I'd be wary-it's obvious that English is not their first language.

it doesn't say you would get the car before paying.
it says the money will be put in a ebay account and transfered later. throw money
i knew it was a scam before reading the first 3 lines

Personally, I suggest this;  If you think you need to ask someone else's advice as to whether it's a scam or not, it probably is.  It might be a bit too much of a blanket rule, but it'll keep your money in your pocket.

How dumb would you have felt if you had lost your money to that.............."human"?   Madd

I'd say, your money is still in your pocket, you will probably suffer NO ridicule from anyone here....all is good, and you did the smart thing by asking advice.  No reason to feel dumb.

Not to change the subject, but my Mom keeps getting all those stupid scams from Africa. Every time she gets one she calls and says this one is real, it's not a scam, it says so right on top of the letter. Frustrated Frustrated, Joe.
