72 Dart lower bj's
« on: September 20, 2008, 09:19:37 PM »

I just ordered and recieved my new Moog lower bj's form Mancini racing.  first of all, i was missing the grease boots.  3 days later, 1 email and 2 phone calls i got that problem all taken care of.  They will ship out the new boots on monday.  I now said to myself, self, let's get these painted to they will be ready to put in when the boots come.  that part went well.  Now the new problem is that they do not fit onto the spindle.  Yes, i do have them on the corresponding sides.  The allignment is off about 3/4 of af inch.  So, before i referenced Mancini, and a few other parts books and they all only list one part number.  Are there two different sizes, could they of sent me the wrong ones, or did somebody change my suspension at one point in the cars life?Huh  It does look all original to me.  Needless to say, i am drink alot tonight, pass out, and then go back to sit outside all day at a swap meet tomorrow.  So, if anybody knows anything about this, has any ideas, or has had this problem, let me know. thanks

Small or large bolt pattern discs? If it's been upgraded you need a 73' newer BJ.

it does have the large bolt pattern. according to my paddock book, they list 67-69, 70-72 w/o disc, and 70-72 w/ disc. Mancini lists them 63-69 and 70-71 (im assuming w/o disc, dosent say), and 70-72 w/disc.

If you have disk brake 4.5" bolt circle on front and the bolt  holes are to close togther then you ordered for the car but not the upgraded suspension. You will need 73 and up disk brake
lower ball joint and all should be good once again.

I would contact Mancini and explain what your problem is...first.  See if they
will exchange for the correct one's even if it takes a restock charge.

If you don't want to do that, then contact Rock Auto (www.rockauto.com)
or Autozone/Napa/ or who ever is your local parts store they should be able
to order the correct BJ for your needs.

When you upgrade to BBP 73-76 A-body discs on a 67-72 A-body you need
the 73 up upper BJ, but you can use the stock lower BJ on the lower control
arm.
