Is anyone else sick of the political postings?
« on: September 21, 2008, 09:11:24 PM »

I know that I am.  I've been coming to this site as long as i have had my big block duster.  Its been sort of an addiction.  Just can't stomach it anymore.  It actually became my favorite site a year of so ago because FABO was getting too crowded, and Moparts was getting too nasty.  Now this one has become too political.  I guess I prefer the nastiness and crowds over this.  Maybe if things are better come december after the election we might stop back.  Who knows.  What a waste of a formerly great site.  Later. moon

Thats the reason the new political section was provided.  Its supposed to keep thin skinned people from getting upset.  You dont have to read the political threads ya know.  Check ya later!  !nanr

Thoughts to consider:

1- This site has an off-topic section
2- This site has a large number of intelligent members
3- It's an election year

What did you expect?

A lot of us agree. Some people cant get their voice heard anywhere else where legitament arguements can be made. Instead they like to argue with people that are here for car bsing. Im sick of people having the balls to say that we are out of line for not wanting to have to sift through the horsesh*t. I would like to thank Bill for making a seperate forum.

I'm with you, but unfortunately, we are the minority. Best you can do is ride it out and wait until January, then things will die down and we can get back to Mopar topics. Please don't leave the site, this is just temporary.

I've learned several things in my past 5 years on this site...You will never please everyone.  Dunno We made a seperate section for political discussions cause a lot of people don't like reading it...So people are still not happy?     Then if we ban all political topic's like we used to....Yep  we did for a while...you get all the people that like that stuff mad...  Madd...  People got nasty with Bill, threatened him when they got ripped off in the For Sale section, Bill removes that, and people get mad at him for removing the whole section... Dunno  What to do...What makes you guys happy?  Who knows....I guess if people want to leave, they will leave...the ones that like it around here will stay....We've had a lot of the same members for years...and some come...and go.... Dunno

Thanks Bill for the new forum. Now it's outa sight outa mind. If I come home from work and want to check out the car stuff and get to bed I can. If I have time and want to check out the political stuff I can do that also. If it's all in one forum I let myself get sucked in, because I do like the BS. Thanks again, Joe.

Boy............that would really suck !
( pun intended )
Good move making a seperate forum for it..........every other place I frequent is saddled with the dilemma of how to keep it civil and I think you have nailed it.
There will be much rancor and disagreement , but that is the nature of the way things work in politics.
And just like the T.V. ,if you want no part of it ,  you can click it away.

I can agree that they got out of hand. But as there is a seperate section, then I find it all good.

Thats one reason I haven't been posting. I know nothing about politics. Also been REALLY busy with school though too.

Bill saw politics/economic threads were crowding the "off topic" forum so he gave them a section of their own very quickly.
Bill lets us speak our minds like adults.
If people don't want to read them then don't click on the link.
If people don't want to look at suspension threads don't click on that link.
If people don't like early A-bodies don't click on that link.
It's simple enough to understand.
Just like the old joke/story section.
If you can't handle it don't click on it.
You people amaze me at how this site is given to us in its abundance, and we still choose to complain about the things we willingly subject ourselves too like clicking on the freaking links that rub us the wrong way.
Here's an idea, let's all start our own site and run it exactly how we ourselves like it and then we can't bitch.
Problem is you would be your only member as you cannot keep everyone happy.
Understanding of diversity, showing some discretion, and a little tolerance is all one needs to survive here.
Be thankful we even have this place...

agree                  thank you        Bill for this AWESOME SIGHT!

I think I'm old enough and smart enough to click where I want to click and don't bother to click on the threads I'm not concerned with. It's pretty simple to me!  Not Rocket Science

Because people click on the Show unread posts since last visit link. When you do, you 90% of the posts are non car related. I personally just click on the Mopar related posts anymore, but it seems that cars have become secondary on this site. Its true, you cant please everyone,  but I stopped going to FABO months ago because this was the best MOPAR site on the net, now it is becoming a political site. I am just taking this all all as temporary until we have a new president.  Dunno Leave it to politicians to F**K-UP a MOPAR site.  Cry

This is probably one of the most important elections since the 1940s. I wasn't here right after 911, but I'll bet most of the threads had to do with that for months afterward. Don't worry; It'll level out when all the excitement is over.
