« on: September 22, 2008, 04:52:38 PM »

the abodyjoe crew had a rental.........this time my moser axels held up!  made over 20 passes in the AMX.........  i think i made 12 passes in the last hour alone........nothing broke, no noises, no leaks, no smoke........i think i could have done laps till i ran outta gas............best time 13.77 @ 104.5  full exhaust and drag radials.........best part was not being towed home! not bad for an AMC  it was a good day!

im thirsty   drinks

these two were the fastest.   the sox and martian car went in the 8's early in the day and the black duster can run low nines.  they lined up together and ran mid 9's.  the S7M car was all over his lane but got to the end first.   aweseome to see.

Makes me laugh seeing the sport bike guys adding TI fasteners, carbon fiber....all to ADD lightness.   Then the rider can barely zip the leathers over a big gut!   Dunno  Just a diet would make the bike's quicker for sure!!!

eldubb:...talk to me about that 440/727!!!  I take trades!!!     Smiley    I just need to know what I'm doing before I commit to throwing it into the 73 Dart.  I'd rather sell it though.

ELDUB440, according to my calculations; 104.5mph should get you a 12.95 et. Awesome! Did she spin some?

Also is that PettyBlue in those pics?

One of these days I want to make it down to that track.  Sounds like a good time for all involved.

Man...........you guys !
I also spent sunday at the track........Grove Creek , Mn. , an 1/8th mile that I knew intimately back in the day.
A good friend who used to run a mid 6 second Duster and Demon ( one had three pedals on the floor ) now runs a large MoPar wedge in a dragster and sets a new track record every time he hooks.
Currently 4.61 and 151 m.p.h.
But sniffing the tire smoke and burnt race gas fumes got to me.
The track has a new owner , new surface and tons of paving in the pits and staging.
I figure that it may well be the most expensive day I have ever spent at the track  because now I need a trailer , a different cam and convertor and will be going through the tranny.
I took a hiatus to race motorcycle enduros for a spell , sold the race car and all the Ford parts I had , and now it will be another chapter in the on going novel " How much can I spend this summer " lol
There is way too much fun to be had out there .............way too much.
