I like all the cigarette butts on the monitor and keyboard.............
And, with clutter like that, what the hell is she doing with an iron and ironing board out ready to use?

Even more ridiculous was the bottle of Febreeze in one photo and the bottle of Resolve in another. You would need tanker trucks full of that stuff!!! When I was in my late teens/early 20's I kept my apartment (MUUUUUCH) cleaner than that. I find it hard to believe that an apartment could get SOOOO bad without any of the other tenants complaining. That didn't happen over the course of a couple of weeks. Another amazing thing is that she never managed to start a fire.

HA!...you've obviously never met my friend 'C' (name withheld to protect the 'really really messy') ok, even my (former) bro in law...handicapped and lives like a bear with furniture isnt that bad. thats a definite sign of a mental illness. which one, Im not sure....but theres some serious self loathing going on there somewhere...not to mention the "cig" rolling papers might just have something to do with all that....iffin you catch my drift

Guy down the block from me was renting an apartment in his house to his sister. His wife kept complaining that the apartment was making the entire house smell bad. One day, he went in and found it EXACTLY like those pics. She went back to live with her mom and get mental help and he had to gut the apartment to the studs to get rid of the smell.

I've had first hand experience with conditions just like that. It can happen in the nicest condos as well as the run down areas of the city. It's nasty the filth that some people will live in.

I had one of those in my rental. A mental case for sure. I finally got her evicted. The best part? I couldn't throw ANYTHING away. I had to BAG it all and put it in storage at MY EXPENSE for 3 months!!!!!!!! guess what....she never claimed it, then I had to throw it out. still lost storage fees, back rent, extermination fees, AND had to gut and resheetrock, carpet all new fixtures. Her 6 months of paying 700 per month cost me nearly 10 grand. Nice.... people suck.

Not for nothing, When and if they find this filthy slob, she should be held financially responsible for any cleanup/renovation costs incurred. Somehow I sincerely doubt the security deposit's going to cover it.
My heart goes out to the owner(s) of that property. They sure got their work cut out for them.
bbscamp - Does property insurance cover any of it?

Mental problem my ass!!! They're just filthy, lazy, f-ing SLOBS!!!! I disagree. I'm a slob. I can't imagine any sane person living like that. It's beyond reason. Of course, it's possible this person planned all along to trash the place, then leave. If that's the case, then I guess you're right. In either case, certainly the person should have to pay damages. Yeah, like that will ever happen!

You may be a slob but THATS ridiculous. Way way beyond sloppy and disorganized. This is a real health hazzard not only to the person living in that apartment but all the surrounding apartments. How much you wanna bet she dresses impeccably and has the neatest, cleanest cubicle in the whole office?
On second thought, you're probably right. It is a mental illness.

There is a form of mental illness where people are afraid to thow anything out. That place definitely qualifies! When I was a leasing manager at an apt. complex for a short stint, I saw all kinds of stuff approaching this. And one that was probably worse. A mentally ill person had been sh*$ting and pissing all over the apartment. Ugh. It was terrible. I actually felt more bad for the lady than anything else. Yuck

Hoarders are mentally ill, its actuallys related to OCD. Beleive it or not, part of the root of the problem is that they have such high standards for cleanliness, that they don't think that they can clean their own home to those standards. Most of those people are dressed very clean and seem to be obsessed with cleanliness outside the home. Its a strange disorder, but they can't help it. Now honestly in some cases, where they are not hoarders, then they are just lazy and don't clean. This is common among young male renters.

But, wow, those pictures are bad. That goes beyond lazy, at a certain point the cleaning urge should kick in. That is definately mental illness, and that toilet, that is just deadly. Pretty sad conditions.

I've been trying to think of the sleaziest homes/apartments I've seen in my life and NOTHING comes anywhere near this. When I was a kid my friend and I thought it would be funny to see which one of us could let his room get the filthiest before our parents "got involved" . Niether one of us could achieve anything like that. In fact, we were grossed out long before our parents said anything.

Where's the HAZMAT team when you need em? Used condoms, next to the pizza boxes and an ironing board. What in the world was she going to iron? She'd have to put it out with the fire extinguisher! What a site. They're on dope!
