Thats interesting, then to say his blood alcohol was high. Do you think someone is trying to cover up the major cause of the accident?

I`m wondering if it was just the fumes from starting the car? Not sure if it`s ethanol or methanol that`s used , but if you got a wif , it might show up as high blood alcohol ?
  Something to think about ?

.02 is barely anything. Maybe he was a tad hungover from the night before?

You wouldn't get that level in your blood from track fumes.  He just had a few drinks the night before.  I don't think his BAC had anything to do with the outcome of the crash.

Wow; thats intricate information. Maybe they can go back to racing 1320 feet now that it's known that his car was under power beyond the speed traps. A shorter racetrack evidently wouldn't have any bearing on the outcome.  Dunno

He likely had way more than a few drinks. To have that blood alcohol content at 4:30pm would mean he was likely hammered as shit the night before and hungover the next day. Still though, I doubt that had anything to do with the accident.

Don't drivers in that class wear a mask supplying them with fresh air (no fumes)?

He probably had a beer or two before the race.  I figured his weight to be at least 250#'s.  If he had 2 beers 1 hour before the race, it would put his BAC around .018.

I dont believe alcohol is the cause. The evidence shows mechanical failure.

How about he hit the camera pod that weighed a few tons at 200+ miles an hour.

RIP Scott.

Multiple impacts resulting in excess of 100 g's and one over 200 g's.
OUCH !
This amounts to curious trivia and solves nothing.
Could some type of automatic fuel shut off be employed ?
I think the solution will lie in some type of chute deployment system that would be impervious to the condition or lack of bodywork , but I don't know that we'll ever see fuel cars running the full 1320 again.
At the end of the day , it is still a tragic loss.

Or maybe not a concrete wall at the shut off area?

actually the wall curves and was not a issue at all. From the starting line it appears to be across the track but in reality it curves around. He did clip the pole holding the catch net first before hitting the high reach.
