My son and I both use that valve body in our street cars. We drive them all over the place. His has been in his Dart since 1997 with no problems and mine has been in my 63 since I got it done in 2006. You have to know what you have and drive it right and you will have no problems. You dont downshift into first until you come to a stop and when you get on the gas in first dont let off and then get back on it. If you are on the gas hard and let off then just shift right into second. And it you do downshift into first before you come to a full stop then just ease into the gas very easy until you feel the overrunning clutch catch up to the eng speed. If you do a first gear burnout just stay into it and shift into second before you let off the gas. Ron

i ran one in my Scamp behind a pretty hot 340 when i was in highschool and a few years after that. never had any problems with it. you just need to know how to drive it. that has been covered already in previous replys. they are alot more fun in my opinion, and man did it ever hit second!!!! (it would get sideways with those big N50 Pro Tracs when it would hit second) gonna run the same thing again behind my 440, if i ever get my dart together. good luck and have fun with it.

I had a reverse Cheetah in most all of my (older) cars over the years and never had any issues. Of course, I didn't necessarily drive them like I stole them or anything either.
I put 85,000 miles on an 84 Chrysler Laser 2.2 with auto and Cheetah reverse valve body. Saved a bunch of wear and tear on the trans by tightening up that sluggish factory shift.
Among others there was a 66 Plymouth Fury 440, 73 Plymouth Duster 360, 318 and 440, 79 Dodge 1/2 ton /6. All these had a Cheetah in them at some time or nother.

Also what are the most common items i need to upgrade for say 450-500hp range??

I like the cheetah valve body. Thats what is in my Dart. Runs good, shifts hard. And i drive it on the street quite a bit with no problem.

Hey, I run an A&A full manual in mine no troubles whatsoever !! Street, Strip and one show each year that is 200 miles one way !! Had my -3 full manual VB with Low band apply from Rick allison @ A&A in my Dart since 2003' not a problem !! Ps I still run the original 69 front cast iron drum too , no explosion yet touch wood you really only need a steel drum if you are running big numbers ! Also if you can rely on the rest of your drive-train ie Rear end strength , driveshaft & Uni- joint quality , centre section ,yolk pinion support ,axles and wheelstuds ect ect. You wont have an issue just check your clearences and make sure you buy a quality shifter, i mashed 2 housings because of a poor shifter, it was applying 1st and 2nd somtimes !! I machined a torrington in the rear of the case behind the inner race of the sprag too for insurance, all good !! I also run +4 Mopar trans oil which has great heat dissipation properties in it , fantastic stuff ! At the moment im doing consistant 11.4's @ 119 without a worry ! For me the Manual VB is the one !! Plus the girls love it !! They ask why are you shifting if its and Auto ?? I tell them and they are just completely confused !! We are all here to help !!

I have a RMVB in my Dart, from CRT. It has low band apply.
I've only driven it twice so far, so I can't really comment on how well it behaves. But so far, so good.
