After a two year relationship (and talking about marriage not more than two weeks ago) my GF dumped my ass last night. Said she couldn't deal with the frequency and length of time that I'm always gone (be it TDYs or deployments), and wanted someone who could be around more for her kid, too. Totally blindsided me, so I was pretty bummed out about it. Got plenty of consolation from Jack Daniels and the Christian Brothers though.
I guess now I can afford to rebuild the heater box in my Duster...

Bummer man. But life has its own path, and this is just an obstacle. Life wants you to find a new person who will be with you until the end, even though your deployments and whatnot. Get that heater box going now! |

Yeah, I knew alot of gals that couldn't deal with the separation and deployments. For me it was time to remember all the good things you kinda forget about in the day to day living. Much more like a honeymoon when he got back. But!!!....Eventually I found out I was just one of the "Girls in every port". His new wife just figured that out too!!  But when you find the right one, it will be worth the wait. Hang in there, besides you've been neglecting Lady Mopar, and she deserves better!! |

Recently my sister and my girlfriend (now ex) had a fight and my sister asked my mom to decide. Well I've never had a fight with my mom before but she "dumped" my girlfriend and me. Said she'd never come visit again and I wasn't welcome at her house either. My step dad sided with her so I lost a whole family in one night. I haven't had any contact now for 6 weeks. Sad, but weird I think. What parent chooses on kid over another? My girlfriend said what the hell kind of family am I part of and dumped me. We were together for 5 years.

I don't get how selfish some people can be. If she thinks your deployments are hard for her, how does she think you feel? I can't imagine not standing behind my boyfriend with whatever he does. Some people get into relationships and expect everything to be easy. The harder you work for anything the more you will get out of it. Find someone who is willing to work hard for you and your relationship and don't settle for less. You deserve it.

Here is what helps me when that happens. I post naked pictures of her! Oh I still have 'em, but I won't stoop low enough to putting them on the net. I didn't even do that to my ex fiance, and she pissed me the fuck off when she went psycho bitch. |
