as it says i have a car that has not been washed for about a year and prior to that has not been waxed for about ten years, the paint is "thin" but i really dont care as it should, will be repainted. Will this awesome product be ok for paint, there is some overspray as well, but i dont want to drive in primer for years...

The "magic eraser" may have some chemicals that could be left on the surface and interact with any type paint you put over it. I wouldnt use it . Take the time to wash it good and then use sand paper.

Well I tried it and it works a bit too well, I think it left some minute scratches, however, i have black paint and tried it on a test spot with little water. i think i will stick to meguires cleaner wax for it protects and cleans well. I think it would work well for an oxidized non black paint, with lots of water, followed by a good wax, but hey that's why we have the board, and i did not see any chemical residue for what its worth

Just wash the car with a non-wax car wash soap, then buff it with some compound.

i wish i could grow a beard like him, but no it is mr. Clean sponges. Another update: it does work really well with cleaner wax just dont get to aggressive, just a gentle first scrub and then just plain cleaner wax and you will be amazed what the junk you can get off, dont try it on tar or sap because you will hurt the finish so any ideas.
