I am considering building an oil pan with the center link running through it, the low sump that I have now is too dangerous. I saw a pan like like this in the old DC racers book. I am wondering if there are any issues getting the link through the pan? Also I haven't looked at it myself yet, the car is covered up in a corner while I clean the junk out of my garage. From what I remember it should be a clear shot right through below the rails.

I had one on my 64 belvedere ... it was a little bit of a pain in the ass to pull the cross link when it was time to pull the motor but over all it worked well ...

Used to run one years ago in a big block Duster, depending on engine placement you might have to mod it it for clearance. Other than being a PITA to remove the pan or pull the motor, they work fine.

The problem with them is if you plan on going faster than 9.99 at a nhra track you won't be able to put a diaper on it for next year. (unless they push the rule back again)

I managed to get an 8 quart pan in my BB dart by extending the sump to the rear about 2" and to the left side about 1". It only hangs below the K frame about 1/2". These dimensions I gave here are not exact but I will measure it if you want.

Sound like my way of doing things. I thinking about the same thing. Your dimensions would be a big help. Sounds like another option. I certainly will consider looking at something like that. Thanks for the input guys!
