Master cylinder question
« on: October 01, 2008, 01:18:56 PM »

Can the clip that holds the MC actuator rod in place be reused? If so, how do I get that F'er out?! If not, where do I get one?

Going to try and put a new MC on the Valiant this weekend. Going to use a later MC so when I do the disc brake swap, the MS is already done.

Thanks for any insight.

I would definitely recommend using a new one.  If a used one fails and your pushrod comes out, your screwed.

To get the pushrod out of the master cylinder, ya just gotta pull REALLY hard.

If i remember right, i used a 1/4" piece of rubber hose.  Was rather hard to get it in but it ain't coming out easy.
