it is not a jig so to speak .... it is a long pice of centerless gound 1" bar stock with adapters made to fit inside the housing ends and inside the carrier caps. the adapters are bolted into the carrier caps, the n the bar stock is slid in and then the hosing ends are put over the bar , then the hosing end adapters are slid on the bar and hold the ends inline with the carrier caps.

I use to have pics but cant find them. I narrowed my dana with a home made Jig. You need two pucks with holes in them that fit were the bearings on your sure grip install. then one that fits into the ends your using. all these have the same size hole in them that you slide a bar through, i used a piece of moly roll bar tube. Slide the roll bar tube through the two pucks in the housing, then slide the one that fits the ends onto the tube. This is how you make it true to the carrier and no miss alighned ends. then tack the end in several places and finish weld.

Narrowing jig that I made for an 8 3/4. A Dana jig would be built the same way. Centerless ground barstock and some machined pucks to align the carrier bearings with the housing ends.

Nope. I'm saying it would have the same basic design. The outside diameter of the pucks would be different, as the Dana uses different bearings.

You can put whatever ends on that you want. I built a Dana60 20 years ago and put ends on from a 8 3/4 that I cut off a donor.

Mark Williams sells them and I think Competetion Engineering sells them aswell. It would most certainly be cheaper to just take the housing to someone who has the tools and let them narrow it for you, as opposed to buying a jig and doing it yourself.

i was in the same situation back a few months and i found a local shop to weld the ends on with his jig for $130.00 it seems like alot for just welding, but when i priced making my own bar up it was cheaper to just pay the shop, unless you plan on doing this more. i priced the parts for making my own jig , the bar itself was $100.00 then the pucks , to get them made who knows what that would cost , as i dont have access to a lathe .
