T400 opinions?
« on: October 01, 2008, 06:33:42 PM »

What is your opinions on a Turbo 400 trans for  8-900RWHP turbo street/strip motor in a fairly heavy Dakota?  I am debating on what way to go T400 or 727. Some of the 727 explosion pictures having me a little timid. But I dont know much about the T400 but I keep hearing about a spragless 400. What is involved with doing a spragless 400?

Thanks

If your going to use a chev trans use a power glide.

I would stick with a 727 if it street driven for the extra gear as the power slide is a 2 speed.

Since it is a "street/strip" truck why not go with a 4l80e........(4speed auto). Dont have to do too much to them to take 900hp

Go with the 727 with the billet front drum and the A and A bolt in sprag.  You won't have any problems//

agree The 727 can be built to take 900+ without breaking the bank. A billet drum and boltin sprag,
and a good VB. Get ahold of A&A or CRT.

Best so far,   10.82 @ 124mph through the mufflers.
