I suggest insanity..........he's just crazy about having lots of money.
I predict it will end with no bids.

Maybe both or maybe just thinking that such an old model never used would be worth something? 125 does sound extreme though, maybe 55 in that shape.

Thats cool. I had (built) that model when I was a kid. I'd give him $25.00 for it now. He's completely out of his mind with that price though.  lol

I do believe you can get a diecast model for less than that!

That's my point. Someone might pay a little more if one meant a lot to them as a kid, etc. or to match a year of building their car, etc. But $125 was outrageous, 1/2 it might not be terrible, but I wouldn't pay it.

Don't know what models go for but collectors do crazy stuff for something they need. About 3 years ago I was trying to get together the down payment on a garage and sold 3 of my old tabacco tins. These were the tins that guys put in their shirt pockets for rolling cigarettes. One sold for $2100, one for $950, and one for $450. I cleared a little over $3000. I never paid more than 2 dollars apiece for one when I collected them 30 years ago. The week after I got the check my buddy and I went to Maple Grove for the summer Nats. Before the first round I had a seizure and woke up in the hospital. Since Reading Hospital is not in my insurance plan they only paid 60/40 and my bill for the fiasco was just about $3000. I had enough left over to buy a 6 pack, still no garage. If it's a rare model I wouldn't be surprised if some one shells out the bucks, Joe.

Old models which are out of production go for BIG $ . Remember those old Frankenstein , Dracula , The Mummy , and Creature from the Black Lagoon models ? BIG $
I saw an original  "Big T" go for $200.00 . Check out vintage Hotwheels if you really want a shock .
