I have an old MP catalog around here someplace, I think the "kit" is basically just a tubular crossmember. Can't find the catalog right now though.

Thank's . Checked out the site.. Seems Ok ,but not very much detail on the conversion, but helpful some what on making me remember what the kit kinda looked like.. I wonder what hub or spindle set up Mopar was using to convert the front discs to 5 on 4 1/2 " bp.. I would think that there would be a compatible swap from another car or something. If any of you know about this let me know . I would appreciate the information.. Thank's Again!

Get measuring on the trackwidth. You may be able to work with something. The price for that stuff is fairly decent. Narrowed rear in the back, a junk front end set up for the motor and it might not be too hard. There's a guy on here with the same kind of conversion, you might want to talk with him. Rampage with a built LA motor, think 360 based with a scoop to cover up the extra engine and look sleek, neat vehicle but I can't remember who's it is.

The original Mopar Performance “kit” was intended to be used with aftermarket struts. Also the crossmembers were not designed to fit the narrower Charger, Omni, Rampage chassis so an original kit will not help you much. I thought about doing a similar RWD conversion to my Rampage and came to the conclusion that it seemed easier to just build a complete chassis, like what you might find under a street rod. For more alternative ideas Check out the web site in the link below for more information: http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f68/Register with the site and you should be able to see the images attached to the threads. I might have an article or two on RWD Daytona build-ups using the original Mopar parts, if you are still interested in that information I can scan them and e-mail the pages once I find them. Which ever path you choose it is sure to be a fun car once completed. Pat

I know that the daytona kit is not compatible ,I just couldn't remember what it looked like so I could see what I could come up with along that line to fabricate. I fabricate for a living and do car and truck fabrication on the side as a hobby and for extra Hot Rod money.. I appreciate everyones input .It's always good to get many ideas before venturing into a new project and wishing you did it differently.. I would still like to know if anyone knows of a front brake conversion off another car that would work on the rampage spindles to 4.5 bolt pattern. If I have to make custom hubs on a lathe so be it . It would be the most simple fix if nothing else is out there.. Thank' s

I think you can swap over to the steering knuckles off of a Caravan if you want the 4.5 bolt pattern.

I don't know about the 4.5" BP, but the Rampage used either 4 or 5 bolts on a 100mm BP which converts to 3 15/16.
You might be able to bolt 4" rallye wheels on. Not sure about the hub diameter, or brake clearances.

I found some info on the caravan knuckles to swap over searching the net. I also found out that the lazer has a 5 on 4 1/2 " bolt pattern . I am also thinking if I use the caravan springs they should work well with a small block. I am sure that the caravan springs are a heavier rate since there would be more weight on the front end of a van. If it sits too high I will cut a half a coil out at a time or find a softer coil spring set. Peanut pattern wheels would be a step backwards as far as tire & wheel selections in the sizes I am going to run, but it is a good Idea if you want to go that route. I already have my tires and wheels for it . 29x12.5x15 sportsman pro's on 15x12 welds & 15x4 welds with 8 ply front runner mickey's. The motor is a 10.5 :1 360 with a 4340 internally balanced crank ,with ohio rods & srp pistons & a Engle KV5.The compression will raise when I put the Indy heads on it. It will be a sweet power maker shifting at 7,200. I'm getting the Indy heads done By marsh performance . He does nice cylinder head work ! My 440-1 heads Todd did turned out killer for my 494 Blower motor for my 67 Valiant post. Thank's again for the information everyone ! I gladly welcome more ideas if any of you have more on this subject..

I scanned a V-8 Daytona magazine article along with a page from an old Mopar Performance catalog and uploaded the images to a photo host site. You should be able to see some decent detail in the scans if you click on the "Full Size" image option. Here is the link to the album: http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh138/MiamiMopar/V-8%20Daytona%20Information/Just another thought or two on the factory 4.5 bolt circle parts. The Caravans should have the largest brakes out of the bunch but once you have the 4.5 bolt circle I am sure you could fab up a custom 11 or 12" brake system if you wanted. The toughest part of using the factory steering knuckles for me would be trying to get the front suspension geometry correct after swapping the spindles from side-to-side. Grafting in a front frame section from another car seems like a good option also. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2681600Good luck with the project and keep us posted, Pat
