Political crap is tearing this website apart.

Now here is why, everytime I come to this site, I click on "how unread posts since last visit" Same as every other site i have ever belonged to, mainly because I dont want to miss any new topics that might be a few days old. But what happened this morning, I clicked on it as usual, and guess what, six pages of posts since I was last here, and 80% of them were political, some looked interesting, but when I read them, it was nothing other than people making lewd comments about someone elses wife sitting on his face.

Today's computer tip from Mark: When you first bring up Bigblockdart, click on the Political section. Click "Mark all topics read". NOW click on "View unread topics" and you have exactly what you want. I do it all the time. 

I'm not bothered by political discussions, as long as they're kept in one place.

Any useful posts, I always save the photos, text, and everything, into a file on MY computer. I have pictures of exhaust systems, cool paint jobs, wheel/tire combos, etc. If this whole site were to disappear, I still have most of what I need. I don't have a copy of some stuff in the tech section, though. That would be useful too. Speaking of which, whatever happened to Duster413? Last I knew, he was dealing with relatives displaced by Katrina.

I guess some people take this stuff to heart more than others.  Its just words on a webpage to me.  If some people on here get upset enough over a political thread to permanently leave this site,  I wonder what they do in the real world when they get into an argument?

I couldn't agree more. I've been a lifelong conservative yet I'm an Obama supporter/voter. This causes untold arguments amongst my circle of friends, but we still remain friends.

I applaud the fact that there is a section for political discussion on this site. The alternative is Moparts where no disagreement is allowed even on car parts selection.

If someones political, religious, ethnic, etc. differences cause you to hold a grudge against them, then I suggest that .... 1. Grow up!, .... 2. Grow a thicker skin, .... And 3. Don't read the stuff that is clearly titled as something you will be disturbed by.

It can't get any simpler.

I like it. Kinda like the smell of napalm in the morning, it gets the juices flowing, let's you know you are still alive.

You can kinda get a feel for which guys you would like to track down and hang out with if the shit really hits the fan and which ones are pussies that will be led like sheep to the slaughter.

Hate to say I told you so.....If Bill allowed a forum on explicit sex would you all just say "don't look at if you don't want to?" Its become a virus that has affected everyone in one way or another.

PFFFFTTTTT!  The only ones bitching about the economic/political forum are the ones who generally dont participate.  People are going to talk about politics/economics regardless, so its better that it has its own forum.  There is more to life than hotrodding and cars.
