So it's been a month since I last "fixed" the ramcharger
« on: October 13, 2008, 08:03:17 AM »

and it didn't go well to say the least. we fixed it and buttoned it all together and it was fine for a day or two, but it bent two more pushrods, so I parked the truck and started looking for a new heart for the truck. Well that's where doug 371 pops up and offered me an engine out of a 89 dodge truck for a price to good to pass up. So me and my dad spent the day prepping the 89 318 to go into my ramcharger, new gaskets, new timing chain, new spark plugs/wires, new block heater plug, etc. It's all ready to go it's greasy as heck but it's pretty nice and clean on the inside.

spent an hour fitting up a new bumper to. I went out to the local pick u part and  found this custom front step bumper, paid 25 bucks for it painted it flat black and had to do some trimming as the brackets were a little long past the bolt holes and hit on the front spring mounts as I took the bumper off a 2wd 78 dodge.

after:

So anyways we pulled the old motor out of the ramcharger and started swapping things over to the 89 and found if I had even been able to get the ramcharger running it would have only been running on 3:

But we've got the 89 in now and are just buttoning things up, I'm going to end up dumping the old gas just don't know where yet, it's just to old and just isn't working out, hopefully running this afternoon.
