hi all.....i have now a 1971 plymouth scamp with a slant/6....and a brand new 383(about 200 miles on it) ....so i want to ... motorinstall   the engine is a 383  030 over...stock forged crank polish and new bearing....edelbrock double roller timming chain...edelbrock torquer aluminium intake(i know ...but hood clearance issue)...holley blue pump......comp cams xe274.....edelbrock 750 cfm performer series....mopar performance distributor kit with orange box....taylor 8mm plugs wires....full length(b-body) hedman headers 1 3/4 ..3'' out....440source aluminium heads(2.14 1.81 )....keith black dome pistons..(6cc dome)...10.1cr right now.....right now a b&m 2500 torque stall...freshly rebuilt 727 with b&m transkit(shift kit)....trans cooler of course....8 3/4 ... 3.91 rear gear with locker lock right.....its a street driven car......but will see some track in week ends...i want to change my converter...some friends told me that 2500 its not enough stall....what do you guys think of my combo and which converter do you guys think that i need....i want a good launch but also be able to drive it on the street...thanks a lot          bbd sign

I agree with Bob. Treat the 383 like a small block. That converter will work nice on the street and the track. Run as big a cooler as you can and a deep pan.
