I finally have almost finished my mini-tub/spring relocation/brakes/tires and wheels project.  I'm going to lower the rear end from what is shown in the picture.  The tires are 245/35-18 front and 305/25-20 back.  I have the SVT big brake kit from Doctor Diff with the 13" rotors front and 11" rotors rear

The wheels are Konig 20X10 50mm offset back, 18X8.5 front 35mm offset.  They are off-the-shelf so I didn't break the bank (completely).

Mine ar P205/70R14 up front and P245/60R14 in the rear.  (5 x 4 bolt circle)

Had to get new 6 leaf springs  and do the old baseball bat roll on the rear wheel mouldings to get enough clearance and height.

heres a good site to compair your planned combo to someone elses.
you can take the rim size and tire size from theirs and see if your's will fit right

'67 Dart. Wheel wells and springs relocated per the tech pages. Inside wheel well massaged and lip trimmed per my photo gallery.

MT 325 / 50 / 15's on 15" x 10" wheels with 7.25" backspacing on a standard width A body rear end will give you 3/4" side clearance. I missed the backspacing by 1/4" therfore I have a strong 1/2" on the outside and a weak 1" on the inside. This is also with Ford Explorer disk brakes.

Tom

tom, i gotta start off by saying that i love your set-up and your car, looks great man, good job!
that being said... would that set-up bolt into my 70 dart with the spring relo and mini-tub? i was looking to get an s60 made to stock length and then go for rims and tires the same size and dimensions as yours... would this work?

1969 Plymouth Valiant 100 with 17x7 in fron on 225/45/17 in front , but out back is a completly differnt story  hammer, lol i bought 17x8 for the back with 245 45 17's not knowing that i would end up haveing to do the 3'' spring reloc.  so now with the wheels tucked in too far.. im goin to break the car in.. work out most of the kinks then send em back for some 18's or stick with the 17's but much wider..

My 68 barracuda is set up for cornering, runs 255/50-17s all around. 17X8" Mustang wheels, studded wheel adapters in back, none in front. Don't have enough posts to add a pic. Frustrated

Just curious if you think 18x8.5 with a 6.08" backspace on a 71 Swinger with an Alterktion front end will fit. Percy's wheel rite is giving me a real tight fit...i.e. suspension isn't aligned yet and wheelrite is scraping the upper a-arm at full wheel lock. Should be clear on the fender though. Any advice is appreciated.  thank you

I love his set up so much I'm copying it!  His was the first car I drooled over when I logged onto the forums after I picked up my '67 Project Dart.  I've got the Dana hung, springs moved in, I just gotta complete my mini tub, and order the wheel/tire combo.

www.wheelvintiques.com has the wheels, and they're about 125-135 per on the rears with custom backspacing ready to go.  Fronts were around 80-90 per.  Dog dishes sold seperately.

This should help a lot of guys.  Photos included !

I just put these on the car
Hoosier QTP  28x11.5x15
weld wheels   15x8   4.5" backspace
70 Dart ,  quarter lips rolled in flat
SS springs in stock location

These BARELY fit in there . Drvers side tire to quarter lip is TIGHT ,  1/4" or less !  tire to  leaf  is 1/2" or less.

 Shocked

I am lookin at 6" with a 18x8.5 and it's close....I am definately talk with Bill before ordering to get his input.  What tire size you gonna go with 245-275??  Tie rod might be an issue I have been told.

Well, what I was thinking, is that if there was enough interest here, I would probably buy one when I am ready to measure for new hoops, and then sell it to another member here.  For say $5 or $10 off the purchase price.  Then that guy could use it, and sell it to the next guy, for 5 or 10 less then what he paid for it, and so on.  Basically be like renting it, and then passing it on.

Just a thought.

I'll be 3rd in line for that deal on the tire measuring tool and $10 off for each selling point sounds fair to me ...

I think we would have to agree upon a minimum selling price maybe, and the subsequent buyer would be responsible for shipping costs.

Sound fair?

That percy's wheelrite is ok, but the better one is called the Mountmate (see pic) and you actually mount the tire.............they are expensive, but I am gonna buy one and probably rent it to regular visiting members here and on another forum I frequent.  What do you guys think???
