B-body sway bar on an A-body
« on: March 20, 2006, 08:07:13 PM »

Looking for an upgrade swaybar for the 68 340 GTS.  Have an 67-72 340 A-body swaybar right next to a little larger diameter 68-69 B-body swaybar and they're close with the exception that the B-body bar is maybe 3" longer and the eyehole is turned down.

Since I don't have the frame mounts for the B-body bar can't exactly determine whether it would fit, let alone work OK.

Anyone tried this or checked it out?  Comments:

It will interfere with the strut rods on a A body.

Much wider than an a-body bar and it just won't fit. There really aren't many alternatives out there besides the aftermarket large bars. I was fortunate to be able to find not one, but two original 383 sway bars that I have a total of $60 in.
