Using F Body spindals for brake swap.
« on: March 21, 2006, 08:45:50 PM »

I have a complete F body disk brake set up and Im puttin it on a 69 A body. I have read threw the tech articals but I Just want to confirm something, I have to use the 73-76 A body lower Ball Joints? I sold my SBP Disk set up and if I cant use the 69 A body lowers Ill send them to the guy who purchased the SBP set up. The uppers and lowers on my car are Brand new and if I wont be able to use them It will be a bonus for him.
PLease confirm I plan on sending these out this week. duster
Thanks

You need 73 to 76 A body lower ball joints. They are not the same as the ones for the 67 to 72. The lower arms how-ever will work. For the uppers you need the 73 to 76 control arms with the larger ball joints.

I plan on using the tubular uppers.
What is the differance on the lowers, if it is OK to use them anyways? Huh

The only real differance in the lower control arms is the sway bar mounts if they have them. the lower ball joints have the same size studs, but the bolts that hold them to the spindles are different sizes.

Is that a lenght problem with the bolts or diamater issue?

The diameter. The spacing may not be the same either. I would have to look at some old ones I have.
