Fuel tank problems
« on: December 30, 2005, 10:51:31 PM »

I confirmed the obvious today. The original fuel tank for my '67 Dart won't clear the Dana.? <):? I moved the rear back 1".? It's close on the relocated springs but that would have been workable.

It looks like I'll be running a fuel cell. Can you share some fuel cell ideas. I was hoping to retain the fuel tank and spare tire well because this will be a street car. I'm thinking I should pick a cell and remove the spare tire well. What do you think? Pics would be great.

The bright side is it looks like I can run the exhaust out the back.

I am replacing the floor in my trunk and putting a 22 gallon stainless tank. My car is for putting it on the road.

Thanks for all the replies people.? I like the size of your tank Bakaruda. I'll need a large tank because I'm active with the car show thing.

I might drop strange 426 a pm.

Take a look at this picture I found on the old site about 6 months ago. Any idea whose car this is. I wonder where that trunk pan came from.

Don't worry too much about a spare tire well. Just install the cell and make a spot for the tire.

There is an outfit that makes cells to fit in the spare tire wheel well of the a bodies. It looks like one of those cells with the sump coming out the bottom. I'm visiting my folks this weekend, otherwise I'd pull a link from my favorites to direct you. If someone else doesn't provide the answer I'll get the link for you when I get back on Tues.
