Topic: Tire too close? (Read 1823 times)

My tire is about a 1/2" away from the frame on my car, is this too close? I have new bushings in the leafs. Just wanted your opinion. Thanks guys.

That's about as close as you want to go, also make sure that there is nothing that can cut the tire bring that close.

It shouldn't be a problem. There will be some body sway in corners, though.

Keep in mind how tall is the side wall of your tire's. The less side wall the less roll in the tire. The down side is ride quaility. Good luck with your project.

These are 28 x 9 tires we squeeze in the boys Dart's stock wheelwell.? The M/T slicks we use at the track are the same size and they have about 1/4 to 1/2" at most on the inside and outside.? And they are about 1/2" from the front of the rear wheelwell.? Everything seems to wokk fine but the slicks rub at times a bit in the traps.? Ron

I have about 1/2" clearence on my car, between tire and frame. It is enough, they don't rub!!
