Is there a standard spec for setting ride height?  Or do people just set the ride height where it looks good, then align it from there.

I can't remember it was so long ago, but on my Dart there was a measurement with stock tires. You measured from the lower balljoint to the ground.Just can't remember where I got the infomation. \/][

The factory manual has you measure from two points on the lower control arm to the ground. Those points are under the pivot and under the ball joint. The difference is the ride height. I HATE THIS METHOD.

I set about an inch between the LCA bumper and the frame. Make both side equal. Then align. You can go a little lower or a little higher and still be able to align.

I'm pretty sure the 1976 manual says to measure between the torsion bar socket (on the lower control arm) to the ground and gives you a spec.

Thanks guys.  I ended up just putting the spindle in the middle of the travel.  From the shock mount in the LCA, I have about 2" up and 2" down travel.
