Finding original color?
« on: March 31, 2006, 09:10:05 PM »

Is there a place on the fender tag stating the code for the original color of a 1968?  Decoded the VIN and it isn't any help.

Yes, it's on there.  I don't have a 68 plate to work with, but if memory serves me (my memory is great, but it's short), the code is on the second line from the bottom and should read something like FF1 (light green) or SS1 (light yellow), if it's a mono-tone color.  I've never seen a two-tone car personally, so I won't guess what the code would be.  I have a paint chip chart, if you can find your code, I can tell you what it is.  Greg

It's under the "PNT" on the fender tag.
