I am looking at two 70 Darts both with /6 in them one is in NJ and the other one is in mossouri.
the one in NJ is a very fair car both run but need some work done .  the one in mossouri is about the same.  i can get both for 1500 . will make a very sweet ride with the BB that i have . i will keep you updated on this deal.

I talked to the guy today on this 70 Dart In Missouri . and he sent me some pics of the car . It needs some work but a 40 year old car going to need some work on it . it does run  thats a good thing. So i may have a deal on a 70 dart soon. so here some pics of the car . it was build in 3- 1970. it does have some rust on the body But Not on the floors.  it will need a 1/4 or two but not right now. i do all my own body work. so i am very good at that. I am so happy to be getting a dart agin . my dakota i will give to my son and let him do the rest of the work to it.  he is looking to but the /6 out of the dart in it ,  And he does have all the stuff to change over to disk breaks also.

What are you planning on building? I have a 70 Dart that is set up for a big block with elephant ears and Hooker 2" fenderwell headers That needs a lot of work. It is in S.E. PA. The body is pretty solid but the previous owner started a mini tub so there is no rear.

The body on my sons 72 Dart was about the same as the one you show the pics of.  His had a vinyl top also but we took it off.    His has a 400 and it bolts in as we have a 68 Cuda 383 K-frame in the car.   It a nice driver and has run 11.40's with a .030 over (406) 400.   I would buy them both and build a nice car.   I like that body style and if you add the dual scoops and stripe it looks like a 340 Dart Swinger from 70.    Ron

Well I am going to buy the 70 dart out of 
NJ it's a /6 car . Plans are to get it home first
Then we will see what it will need or what
I would like to do to it. I do have pics of it but my main PC is down.

my dart was a lil worse than the one your getting. thats a sweet find my man!!! being an early slant 6 car, it might have fiberglass front fender end caps!!! those are getting very hard to find!!! my car came with an extra set and they were fiberglass much to my suprise!! if you are going to get rid of the side molding, please let me know!!! i have a close friend that needs the pass. side front fender piece. thanks!!

Well i am not going to buy the dart out of NJ. i am going to buy one out of KY just south of E town .
it is a very sweet dart 71 dart swinger 318 it a runner  could drive it home but i am going by myself .
i will post some pics as some as i can. it needs two 1/4 panels but it aslo comes with to new ones to. 
I do have a Big block and a 340 i could drop in it  which one

Which motor would be best in my dart. have both 440 an 340  727 for both i really like the 340 but the 440 would be great also..
need you input here ..the 440 is a 78  and the 340 is a 70 ..

Are you asking which motor to build or which motor to swap in?

Stock for stock the 340 is a better bet.

Hay BB Dakota where in Missouri is that dart? I live in Missouri and would like to look at what this guy has. My son and I are building a 70 swinger and it sure would be nice to find parts close to home, thanks

Well i am thinking about a doing the big Block for my dart i have got motor and trans  it just makes more cents to do it this way.
So i have never did a BB in a car before so the may be a fun trip for me . so if you have some  tip for me let me know.. do's and  no no's...

If you got the 340 and it doesn't need a complete rebuild that'd be a good pick. More horsepower and torque than the best stock '78 440 but with less weight. The 440 would take several mods to run with it. But they are all possible to do.

Put the 340 on a stand for a conversation piece in the garage.   Put the 440 in the Dart so you have a

Exhaust is the biggest obstacle. Usually you will need manual steering to use long tube under chassis headers. If you don't mind a little frustration, fabrication and making things work a big block is cool. The small block would probably be on the road sooner, cost less and require less special parts.

you can go worng with a 340!!!!! i was going 11.70's with my mild pump gas 340 im my dart and i could drive it anywhere!!!

I know this will be my 2nd 340 for me . the first was a sweet  one .   ran 12.03 1/4 7.62's 1/8 1.62 60ft.  with a 750 eddy carb  j heads worked over 340 block with 360 crank and rods and a hughes engine cam  727 trans w/5000 stall amd a manual val body  dana 60 w/ 4.56 gears  this was my first dart. like a ass i sold it.
