wiring harness
« on: May 12, 2006, 08:37:02 PM »

i got a dash wiring harness from e bay for my 68 dart. the harness wont fit. i need to know what it is for. i have three nubers from the harness but no books to look it up in. so any help would be great. 1st clue is the amp meter wiring on the bulkhead connector screws on from the engine side.
bulkhead part number is 2258497
harness number on the yellow tag 2290822
fuse box number is 2291593
the guy is telling me this came off a 68 dart 4 door 270. but there is only 12 inches between the bulkhead connector and the fuse box. theres no way that can fit when the fuse box is on the left of the steering column and the bulk connector is on the right of the steering column.  any help would be great

Can you post some pics? Specifically the fuse box and bulkhead (wire colors at the bulkhead may help also).

That can't be right. I have a complete, uncut harness from a 69 in front of me right now, and it shouldn't be that much different from a 68. I have:

2291593 for the fuse box, also; although it was probably used various years and models, I would think...

2631315 for the bulkhead connector

End to end, there is over 2 feet between the bulkhead connector and fuse box when stretched out.

I would like to see some pics of that, also.  Huh
