Trivia question.........
« on: May 22, 2006, 07:50:19 PM »

Q. Whats the worst thing us Mopar guys hate about our old cars? Huh

A. The electrical system.

Mine just went up in smoke in the convertible.
I am not a happy camper. The fusable link didn't break so it burnt from the key ignition all the way to the voltage regulator. It's a good thing it happened a few blocks from home. This was the first time this year my girlfriend used it. I'm in the yard and I get that dreaded phone call "The cars stuck. It was smoking under the dash and it just stalled."

I am going to search online for wiring harnesses. Anyone know of a good place to start? explode

I saw the engine wiring harnesses from Paddock and Year One. I'm calling an electrical specialist tomorrow. See what he says.

At least the whole car didn't go up... explode Any idea why the fusible link didn't catch it?

This is a b-body car. Unsure if it will fit.

OK good news. Electrician told me to buy the Year One reproductions for the engine and under dash harnesses and I will send out the gauge cluster out to be redone and he will do it for around $500. He's known in this area. He's a Buick guy, has a couple of GS's. Says this will be easy and can get me in pretty quick as soon as I get the harnesses.

I've just been awarded a U.S. patent here at work and we get awarded money for it. Guess where that money is going.  \/][

Easy come easy go.

That's good news. If he's a Buick man he must be sharp. Grin

Wiring harnesses are ordered. Waiting for the reply about my gauge cluster and then thats getting sent out.

Hopefully it won't take forever to get this car on the road again.
