I'd like to run a 28" tall tire in a stock Dart wheelwell. I know a 26" tire is o.k.- I have a 2.45-60-15 in there now. A 2.75-60-15 is 28". Has anybody done this. I was told I might have to move the springs back 1/2". If so, would I use a spacer behind the front spring retainer?

i dot think you can fit a 275 with the spring in the stock location. i have 255 70's on my dart, they are 29". they do rub occasionaly on the front lip. not even enough to mark the tire, but enough to rub the paint off. next time, id go with a 255 60, just because it looks kind of funny with these tires.

Can be done. I moved the rear back 3/4" and moved the springs in 3/4" Here's a pic of 275x60x15 drag radials under a 4 door dart that i built for for a friend.

The 275/60/15s are a tight fit on the front lip of the 1/4 need to clearance[cut and move lip back towards center of car] look in the tech articles someone did a nice view of it and what needs to be done. Plus I moved the springs in 3/4 of an inch too. I just have stocker style cop wheels that are 15 by 7 and haven't got any issues on the 1/4 lip at all. Roger
