I'm wondering how hard or easy to would be to put a 5 bow headliner in my car. 64 Valiant two post car. Is there special tools for getting the sides and front and back up in those hooks? Does it need to be glued also? Thanks for your time.

i did mine in the cuda, it was pretty easy...
i needed a little tool for the front, and rear, but the sides were just pulled tight and the pressed onto the hooks.
i think iused a butter knife to catch the liner and push it up into the window rubber untill it hooked front and back.
the hardest part was the sides onthe cuda...
but the door sides were easy, and came out good. do them first, then front and back.
good luck

How many forums did you post this question in? How many nicknames do you use? I use the same nickname everywhere, even Ebay.Ha ha http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=11425 Your engine looks Awesome BTW. Edit, Hmm, i typed L O L and got some funny smily face, when I wanted the laugh out loud letters.

I'm still trying to get the roll cage in it, before I put it in. Have you played with the Hemi yet. I wish I could afford to get started working on my 392 Hemi for something. Lee

3.23's and a low gearset... we'll see what it does at the track - it feels GOOD on the street...

Ok, I'm finially getting ready to do this. I'm needing to know how you did the sail panel area for those that have done one in an early A? I'm thinking that the Darts are the same way on the sail panels in the back. Are they glued to the car then you glue the headlinger to the sail panel board then you strech and hook it to the then prongs in the car? Thanks in advance.

Here is one shot. I realize that it isn't perfect and some would not of left it that way, but it was first attempt. The more I tried to redo it the more it was trying to rip as took back away fromt he teeth on the sides so........

I did mine in the Barracuda and my hands hurt for 3 days! I bought a headliner that was folded up in a bag, Dont know how long it was in there but I spread it out on a summer day for 6 hours to get it soft but I still have creases in it. I want to hit it with a heat gun to maybe shrink it up a little but I dont know if itll do the opposite and start to sag. I took out my front and back window to get to the teeth. Its not that easy, start from the middle and the front corners overshoot, start from the front and the bows dont center, the back sail panels didnt really turn out that nice, Ill have to back it with something semi ridged like fiber board and felt and glue it or something. I dont know how those assembly line workers did it all day. Looks better than the glue speckled metal roof though!
