manual steering box questions
« on: July 04, 2006, 03:09:54 PM »

hey all,  I want to dump the power steering  unit in my 67 cuda and stick in a manual setup.
      three questions I have:

        1) the manual box i have is from  a  1965 (v8) barracuda.  will that fit  a 67 cuda
        2) what about the pitman arm? would the arm attached to the 65 box be correct for  a 67 cuda
        3) I know aboput the little adapters available to correct the steering column length, but what if i had a steering column shaft from a manual car, couldnt i slip that inside my my power column thats in the car now.  or would that not work? what if the   donor shaft was from a column shift  manual car??
   thanks in advance,
  neal

it will bolt right in but you'll have to compare the steering arms to each other. the manual shaft will work. manual or auto, it doesn't make any difference.
