'cept next summer my chassis cert will drop back to 8.50.  Cry I'm not planning more than a 200 shot.  That should get me an 8.50 in the heat  Grin

I have hood clearance issues and eventually the top end of my motor will go on a pump gas mill, I was only going to do this once  4 speed

I just finished tearing down the bathroom wall that the thief- I mean contractor put up. He didn't insulate it. I can only imagine if he does the same crap for someone else that doesn't know what he did or didn't do, but like the "pretty bathroom" and then their pipes freeze up. Going back inside to insulate.

Finally doing some metal work. I'm starting with the worst part of the car-it's rusty AND bent. L/R frame rail was tweaked, plus rotten rocker, floor, bent/crumpled door post, etc. It's slowly coming along.

Point of no return!

Still a long way to go. I plan to have the metal work done by spring.

That's pretty much all I do..............water damage repairs from frozen pipes. The problem is once the inspections are done the contractor hires the cheapest insulation contractors (usually don't speak english) and they stuff the insulation in the walls.  hammer Well when you put the insulation over the pipes between the pipes and the drywall you are insulating the pipes from the inside warmth.  ALWAYS take the time to tuck the insulation behind the pipes thus insulating the pipes from the outside cold. Duh.

Motor is just about together.  Smith Bros is sending the pushrods so it will be all buttoned up soon.  New valve covers will need to be plumbed for the vac pump - all the plumbing will be done last.  I have to work on plumbing the accumulator, oil cooler, remote filter and remaining oil lines (the one I had done hit the header).  The headers came back today from Jet Hot - I'm pretty pleased.  Hopefully I can get a few passes in this thing before I go back to the desert.   !nanr  Now if I can get the guy to paint the thing the right color we'll be in business.

Just re-organized the garage so I can move out there and actually accomplish something.

Looks great Carter.  What are you running for a cam?

Solid roller - .688, .278-ish @.050.  I can't find the damn cam card.  That's what happens when you take two years to build a motor I guess.

Getting ready to install the motor this saturday. I had to have the lugs on the torque converter cut down to clear the flexplate. Switching from a B&M flexplate , to a Mopar Performance flexplate. Also switching from a Holley 850 to a 1050 Dominator.

Finally making real progress on the Duster. No updates on the web site yet - need my friend to email me some pics we took. Got patches on both rear quarters tacked in place. We're butt-welding them. The tacks are done with a mig and some of those funny clamps. My friend then uses a pencil-tip torch and gas welds the seam, little by little. The gas weld is not rock hard like a mig weld, so you can work the metal and get it flat again. Pretty cool stuff. I will try my hand at the gas welding, but he may end up doing most of it. We did a lot of work on his wife's Ford that way. Check it out: http://www.theSandMshop.com

Got my AAR hood - hinged with a six-pack scoop. Using the hinges that Herb modified for me. I keep staring at the hood. It's cool.  Cool

Need to take my engine in. The 340 will get Edelbrock heads and as much compression as pump gas and my cam will tolerate. That's all that's decided so far.

I pulled my 3400# manual trans springs and stuck the 002-003 springs in with sliders. THAT is also cool.  Cool

I think early next summer it will be on the road.

Just trying to get back into the mood to work on the Demon, took all day yesturday cleaning and organizing the garage so I could actually walk around and find tools and parts, after my coffee is finished I'm going out to try to make a dent in the wiring harness...
