How do you get hood hinge springs off?

I'm planning on going to a fiberglass hood later, for now I have to use my stock bent hood, but since I have the fenders off I wanted to remove the springs. How do you get them off? I already released the tension on them, but can't seem to remove them completely.

cut the little pushloc washers off with a dremel tool.

I had the hinges off the car, it was the actual coils I was talking about. I already put them back on the car though, I needed to get my fenders back on.
