Will regular paint work on intakes? Or do you need high heat paint?

Cleared the intake and painted the engine with the same paint as the stripe on the rear of the car

I used Mopar Performance Hemi Orange engine paint  on the 440 in my Coronet and Mopar  Performance small block blue on my sons 318 in his Dart.

Engine paint will hold up fine. I cleared an intake once and the clear stained and turned funny colors from the heat.

I thought about spraying the clear,
but I don't want it to look bad after a while.

I'll have to get my pics uploaded bbd sign

Yeah don't use engine paint clear on the intake. I powdercoat all of my intakes, mostly with a low-gloss clear so it looks like a normal aluminum intake, some of my customers like the look of a high gloss clear, but I don't. Powder coat is gas and oil resistant- not even brake fluid will stain it! Heres my S/B after the dyno- intake still looks like new! (I also powdercoated the valve covers!)
