Ryan, what size rear tires and rims/backspace did you use? I haven't seen your car in a while, it's looking good! Thanks, having a baby has slowed progress some Those are 325/50/15's Mickey Thompson ET Street radials, mounted on 15x10 Weld Pro-Stars, 6.5" backspacing...Stock width rear...

Dont be afraid to try it as long as you have access to a good welder, an air compressor and a cutoff wheel, or as I prefer an air powered body saw from Harbor Freight for $17 There's pics on my site of mine when I mini-tubbed it...Alot of work but really not that difficult... I just received my springs…installed them and not yet lowered my cat on wheels to the ground.Question…my car is 70 340 duster. Looking at the springs installed and hanging ( no weight). I noticed that the shackles are pointed about 45 degrees forward. I am skeptical that when I finish going thru my rear end and I place the car down on the tires….that the shackles will remain forward….Did you have any problems? If so…how did you remedy. These are the XHD 5 leaf and measure the correct length. 55inches along the curve from front eyelet to rear shackle bushing. I called JR Spring in Minnesota and he told mrethat they would work just fine and that the correct measurements are 20 inches from front bushing center eyehole to stud in shock/u-bolt plate and then 35 inches from stud shock/u-bolt plate to rear shackle bushing center….any feed back would br greatly appreciated.. Thanks

No replacement for displacement!

These springs are a great deal no doubt, I bought a pair from Jc about ten years ago and I think they were like 99 bucks back then. They started to sag about 89days later just on one side. JC was very helpful and offered an exchange but instead I just tore all the leaves apart and mixed and matched side to side to even out car and the thing still sits nice to this day!! Anyone have similar problem cause for this price I may try them again.

I bought a set of the xtra high lift springs around october of 05 for around $120. I had tried to order a set of SS springs from Mancini but they just gave me the run around. The car originally had an 8.25 rear and I upgrade it to an 8-3/4 the same time I put the new springs in. They were a major improvment over my old springs, about 3" difference! I have some pictures of a before and after but I dont know how well you can tell the ride height. I am very satisfied with them and will definetly suggest them to any one needing new ones!

this is fine...but has anyone experienced the part about them being too short? understanding that they are more bowed than the ones that came out of there but I am doubtful that they will go back towards the rear....look at the angle...please ....any comments or suggestions ?

Have a set waiting to be installed so I can't comment as to the fit. But until the weight of car is on the springs you won't really know where the angle of the shackle will be......

I put a set of these springs on a 69 Dart last yr. and had the same "shortness" issue. The shackles pointed forward, even when the car was lowered. I even had some custom spacers machined in an attempt to get the shackle to go the other way, but to no avail. A helper spring I added made the problem worse. So I took that off and the shackles pointed straight down basically. I drove the car to Vegas and raced it last March. Basically everything was fine-- a stiff ride, but the stance is good and there seem to be no issues really. Those wanting a cushy ride might want to beware.

I have a set of them for my Swinger. They appear to be as good quality as any other springs I've seen. They are not "True" HD springs though. I figured I'd give them a try with my Cal-Tracs and see what happened.

Here is an after and before pick of our Dart with the JC springs. Raised the car at leaast 3" from the dead springs. The ride is very good, put the car at a nice rake. As far as racing them... Dunno

Thanks for resurrecting an old post. Was just thinking about replacing the springs on the Dart. With teh adjustable pinion snubber on the 8 1/4 it sits on the pan all the way down. Definatly going to order myself a set.

Does anyone know if these guys have a web site to order the springs direct instead of going thru Whitney?
