Jcwhitney leaf springs???
« on: January 11, 2006, 09:42:16 PM »

I need some new leaf springs for my car and i don't have very much money, the cheapest i found were these jcwhitney ones http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-VehicleBrowse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2005965/showCustom-0/p-2005965/N-200728541+111+1970+600003421/c-10101 I was wondering if anyone had used them or heard anything? I don't need the nicest or the best leaf springs, just some decent ones. Thanks

That price just tells me they are made in China instead of Mexico.  Go for it!

I think I'm going to get a pair too Smiley  I've been looking for some stock type leafs - I HATE super stock springs on the street.  Kinda funny I've been looking around at all the popular places and all this time good ole JCWhitney had them in stock LOL

heres the new springs..  it rides very well.  maybe just a lil bounce in the back (i did get the heavy duty!)  honestly i havent had sticky tires on them but i KNOW they will be good in a street strip application.   pushing down on the rear bumber has just the right feel to it.   best part= like 136.00 shipped to my door!!!   it took 10 days to get em

My buddy put these on his Charger to replace his Mopar performance springs; the MP's were a tad more stiff (he could definitely tell at the strip), but they were a LOT better on the street.

Ok guys please correct me if I am wrong.
but are all 67-74 "A" bodies not the same?
I got excited about these leaf springs and went to buy a set for my 68 cuda conv.
but the JC site is giving me a 64-69 cuda with a 6 leaf extra high lift? (not at all what I want)
If I order the springs for a dart will they fit? and for what year?
Am I missing something here?
I have 7- 67-69 cudas and 4 misc darts and I have always thought
the rears and leaf springs are the same. Mabe I is just stupid  \/][

Good question. I have a friend with a 68 Cuda that has S/S springs on it and the rear shackles tilt forward instead of back. Are the springs short or just arced too much?

Just bought a set of 5 leafs....$59.99 each....$119.98.   At $125 you get free shipping.   So add an airfreshener and save the shipping cost!

those 6 leafs they have are touted as "high lift"  springs..  i think they are the spring manufacturers eqivelent to the SS.  i assumed my 5 leafs they have are like "xhd".  which i think they are..  i just love mine..  i cant say enough good about em. i love the way my car sits and the ride is great!

I think I will order the 5 leafs also.
what did you do about the front bushing?
I notice other spring manufacturers use this as a selling point.
are the front bushings hard to press in?
